March 19 Update
March 19, 1:33pm EST
Report from Jacmel Haiti:
Another team from CC Fort Lauderdale arrived in Jacmel this week. The team visited Mother Theresa's orphanage which is an orphanage for AIDS babies and very sick children. They had a wonderful time loving on the kids some were malnourished but all were aching for a loving touch. They stayed there for several hours feeding and playing with the children. The team presented the gospel there and several asked the Lord to be saved.
The team has also been transporting and sorting donated food to Pastor Abraham's orphanage and school and boxing it into individual family size boxes for the last 2 days. While there they played with and fed the children. Some of the team took the boxes that we made up and delivered them to homes in the neighborhood. Each box was equipped with a Creole bible.
Pastor Abraham is a native Haitian with an obvious love for his people and for evangelism. He does quite a bit in the community as well as being a professional teacher with over 600 kids in his school. The team will be attending his church service on Friday night.
The team also returned to Pastor Ginay's village and did more VBS, played with the kids and had a great time. There were almost 40 parents & children that raised their hand to receive Christ as a 17 year old student shared the gospel. Team members had the opportunity to speak with them one on one later.
Dave Bird from CC Chino Hills took some of the guys to clear rubble for an elder women's house where her husband died in the collapse. After shoring up the walls and roof they tarped it so she could sleep inside out of the rain. This was one of two homes the team tarped.
On another day the team visited a newly constructed birthing center. They met with one of the mid-wives who expressed a need for more help as there are many pregnant women here.
On Friday the team will be spending the day about 45 minutes away in the mountains outside of Jacmel. There they will be doing another VBS in a small village and school with about 200 children. The team will be distributing food and also showing them the God Film.
Back home both the 20,000 and a 2,400 sq ft tent have been palletized and made ready for shipment from CC Costa Mesa. We are also preparing to receive 14 pallets of medical supplies that will be shipped along with water tanks, generators, and other equipment from CC Cost Mesa to CC Fort Lauderdale. We are also in the process of purchasing enough fencing to secure the 4.5 acres that will serve as our base camp.
Please pray that the Lord will continue to open doors to minister His gospel to people of Haiti. Also pray that in spite of growing pressure, from the government of Haiti, to control the flow of products and teams, that our Lord will open the flood gates and allow us to move our teams and supplies into Haiti.

At this weekend's services, there will be an opportunity for medical professionals to give us their information as well as more information on how the body can be more involved. We will also be addressing the needs of those who have friends and family in the devastated region.
